I challenged my class before the holidays to be able to tell me in January one thing they were grateful for over the Christmas break. This could be a particular present, the time spent with family, a particular Christmas memory or even the delicious food they enjoyed.
So I now ask you all – What were you grateful for this Christmas?
Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope you all had an extremely jolly and happy day with your families.
Hands up if you ate too much chocolate?!
It’s time to share the best of this year’s Christmas cracker jokes! I will award my favourite with a house point so share them below!
Voting for the name for our tortoise has now closed with many of the children having put in a vote for their choice.
The winning name was Esio Trot!
She is already quite a character and has been very active during the school day. Her latest trick is to climb on top of her wooden tunnel and she certainly enjoys munching on lettuce and cucumber. The children have been really excited by her arrival but also very sensible! Once she is fully settled into a routine, each class will look after her on a specific day of the week.
The teachers have been in discussion and have now selected the Digital Leaders for each year. The Digital Leader position is a new job for this year and their role includes:
- Supporting the class in ICT and Computing lessons
- Ensuring the laptops are always tidy and plugged in
- Being E-Safety ambassadors for the school
- Helping Miss Whiteman with the blog
There were many children interested so it was a very tough decision but we are sure that the selected children will fulfill their important role sensibly and maturely.
I am pleased to announce that the new Digital Leaders are:
Year 1: Rebekah and Leo
Year 2: Arlo and Jemima
Year 3: Tom and Aarica
Year 4: Finn and Elizabeth
Year 5: Faith and Charlie
Year 6: Nancy and Tom
Well done to all!
